“The best hour of my day is in the gym”. I hear this a lot by many serious gym members. Not shocking that these are also the people that make the best progress not only in the gym, but in all areas of life.

Gym time is “your time”. In the past week I have witness people watching television shows on their mobile devices, videos, chatting on Skype, checking social media updates, reading books, writing, talking on phone. I don’t need to tell you that this is not “working out”. Setting up a tripod for your phone so you can view something on the screen while your “stretching” isn’t stretching. What all this is is a WASTE OF TIME.

Focus on the goal of the workout, the process, the actions, the feeling of muscles “working” through their contractions. This is mindful exercise, because this training session is about you, becoming better, achieving your goals.
